Even if there is no impending disaster caused by global warming as Christians we do not have the right to do whatever we want to the environment. In Genesis it says that we have dominion over the environment. This dominion is not to destroy nature it is to be a benevolent ruler over it so that it is not destroyed. We should be actually conscious of where our fuel comes from. Such as eliminating oil sands which has been seen to have large impacts on the natural habitat of animals. Trees are not just a resource to be exploited for paper but an important part of the ecosystem that is necessary to maintain the beauty of the environment and is essential for us to continue to breath. I am not suggesting that we eliminate all usage of trees and oil because that would be impossible but I am suggesting that we moderate it so that we are actually exercising the dominion that God has given us.
